Bindo Minatures at The Laurels

The Laurels is a 20 acre boutique farm nestled in the beautiful Blue Mountains two hours from Sydney.

At the Laurels we breed Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys with a goal of producing donkeys with top conformation, temperament and size.

Bindo Miniatures is dedicated to the preservation of the American Miniature Mediterranean Donkey breed and its focus is to continue sharing the joy these little creatures bring. While they may be small they have big ears and even bigger hearts.

We love what donkeys bring to family life and specialise in breeding American Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys on a small scale.

All the members of the Bindo Miniature Donkey herd are pets. They are loved, handled, brushed, hand fed and cared for on a daily basis and are registered with Donkey All Breeds Association (DABSA).

Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys are nearly extinct in their native land of Sardinia and Sicily. However, their numbers are steadily increasing due to the successful breeding programs in the United Kingdom, France and United States and more recently Australia.

In the 18th century Miniature Meditation Donkeys were mostly utilised turning grindstones for grain and as pack animals for mountain shepherds. When fully grown they stand at between 76 to 91 cm tall. In Australia they are bred for family pets.
